Metabolic Disease Means It Can Change

Heart disease is a metabolic disease, defined as
‘…affected by metabolism’, and ‘undergoing metamorphosis’ 1
So metabolic diseases are by their very definition always changing, and never permanent. So you can see that since heart disease is a metabolic disease, it is clearly not permanent. Just as it can evolve into a more dangerous state, it can also evolve into a less dangerous state, depending on the foods we eat.
Metabolic diseases are those that change slowly over time, as compared to infectious or contagious diseases that are transmitted readily through the air or by physical contact. The fact is that all metabolic diseases are directly affected by diet and nutrition; including, high cholesterol, diabetes, arthritis, and even many forms of cancer.
So when your doctor tells you that your high cholesterol is permanent, and that all you can do is manage it, he is misinformed.
