Chicken Soup Anyone?

Remember having a stuffy nose and sore throat, with signs and symptoms of a cold? Or allergies that left you teary eyed with a runny nose? How about being told to have some hot, salty, chicken soup to make you feel better?
In these modern times where we are so conditioned to go to the pharmacy first, these solutions are thought to be too old fashioned; and can’t possibly work in this day and age, and yet, many of the leading OTC (over the counter) drugs list sodium as their number one ingredient.
They continue to sell simple salt solutions for $3 to $5 a box, surrounded by a flashy advertising campaign, when all the while a bottle of Gatorade and a small bag of chips will do the same thing for a lot less. The reason is simple.
Eating salt will raise the blood sodium levels, and therefore pull water out of the tissues, drying up watery eyes and a running nose.
Yes, it is that simple.
Chicken soup won't stop allergies, but it will comfort you for alot of things, so be generous with the salt.
