How Much is Enough Vitamin C?

In the natural, humans, moneys and guinea pigs are the only mammals that don’t make their own Vitamin C. All the others that do, make it consistently at about 35 mg for every pound that they weigh.
A typical vitamin C therapy for a severe illness or injury would consist of approximately 300 mg every 15 minutes for a visible improvement within the hour. Over the years, this was not fast enough, or took too much trouble to eat for ‘modern man’. He wanted to inhale something and get immediate relief within minutes or even seconds in many cases and think about it later.
There are times when that is appropriate, particularly in acute breathing problems, but for the average allergy sufferer this is not the answer. The problem with pharmaceuticals is that people forgot all about preventing future attacks and natural therapy and quickly became dependent on synthetic drugs alone.
Eventually, everyone, including the medical community forgot about vitamin C altogether, and the people became addicted to their puffer. A simple 1500 to 2000 mg daily would go a long way to prevent allergy attacks and prime the body to be ready for any allergen that decided to cross its path anytime in the future.
In addition to assisting the adrenal glands in producing more cortisone, Vitamin C makes this cortisone more effective in the process. Vitamin C also decreases the permeability of cells, and has an anti-histamine action all its own, that is beyond the scope of this writing.
